Preview before deleting Gmail messages

The biggest fear in inbox cleanup is the irreversible mistake — a tax document, travel confirmation, or medical message sent to Trash by a bulk tool.

Start here: Run preview with Apply OFF before deleting or labeling anything in Gmail.

Preview-before-delete is the antidote: analyze mail read-only, review suggestions, apply only when confident.

How Inbox Maid preview mode works

With Apply changes to inbox turned off, Inbox Maid uses Gmail read-only access. It fetches messages matching your query, sends content to OpenAI per your privacy setting, and displays suggested actions in Review Results. Your inbox is unchanged.

When you're ready to apply

Enable apply and confirm the destructive-action warning. Labels apply and Trash moves execute only for that run. Undo is available from Run History for the most recent applied run when rollback metadata exists.

Privacy during preview

Choose a privacy level in Settings — Maximum (default with PII redaction), Balanced, or Off with explicit confirmation. Private Preview runs always use Maximum-equivalent protections. Details on Security & Gmail access.
